2008 Bracket Racing Information

Auto Start
Once both vehicles are pre-staged and the first vehicle stages, the second car has ten seconds to stage before the tree is automatically activated. This predetermined amount of time is referred to as "Time Out". If the second car fails to stage before the system "Times Out" it will be given a red light.

Burn Outs
All burn outs must be within the designated areas only and using water only. Crewmembers are NOT permitted to hold or touch the vehicle during the burn out. Only those vehicles allowed to do so by the 2008 NHRA Rulebook are permitted to cross the Starting Line during their burn out.

Bye Runs
The Winner of the Bogey Race will receive the Bye Run in the first round. If even numbers of cars run, the Bye Run will carry over until it is used. Bye Runs will be picked by computer according to best reaction time from the previous round. You can receive only one Bye Run per race. One second will be added to the reaction time of any racer who already had a bye, to insure that one driver does not qualify for two bye runs.

Class Specifications (All Classes)

Gold Club Parking
Gold Club parking is $200 for a registered racer. Gold Club parking will be honored at the ET Points Races listed. Each Gold Club Parking Space purchased includes one Gold Club Buyback. The Gold Club Buyback can be used ONCE in lieu of money for any regular Buyback at events where Gold Club parking is honored.

Junior Dragsters
Junior Dragsters will be limited to one pull back after completing the burnout. No one other than the track officials is allowed past the Starting Line Cones. Juniors must stage themselves. Junior Dragsters will receive two time runs. Jackshaft Counters Allowed. No wheel sensors allowed.

Lane Choice in Eliminations
Lane Choice is determined by which lane you enter as long as two staging lanes of opposite sides are full. If vehicles are in single file, lane choice is determined by the first car out of the staging lane. Once paired by computer, lane choice will be decided by Reaction Time from the previous round of competition. One second will be added to the reaction time of any racer who already had a Bye to insure that one driver does not qualify for more than one Bye Run. However, this one second addition will not effect who gets lane choice. Lane Choice will be based on actual reaction times from the previous round.

Lane Choice for Time Trials
The lane you enter determines lane choice. Lanes 1, 3, 5, and 7 will put you in the left lane. Lanes 2, 4, 6, and 8 will put you in the right lane. Final lane choice will be determined by Track Officials.

Pairing
Super Pro, Modified, Pro Bike and Junior Dragster will be paired by computer starting with 8 cars or less based on Reaction Time from the previous round of competition. Run Order and lane choice will also be determined by reaction time with 8 cars or less. Juniors will be paired by random card draw until they reach 8 cars or less.

 Purse Payout
If you break after money rounds start, you must notify Race Control. Winner and Runner Up will be paid at the COMPLETION of the race. All other checks will be mailed to the qualified contestants on the first regularly scheduled workday after the race. Junior Dragster checks must have Social Security Number to be paid.

Racer Refunds
Racers that fail tech or break, prior to First Round, must go to Race Control for sign off on their ticket. A refund based on the current Refund Policy posted in Race Control will be given that day only. Should an activity cause the race to be cancelled prior to completion of First Round, the full price, less Racer Fund contribution, will be refunded at the ticket gate that day only.

Reruns
In the event of a malfunction of the timing system, the competitors involved will make a rerun of the race.

Restricted Areas
Competitors and Crewmembers may enter portions of the Restricted Areas only while wearing the proper wristband. Wristbands are given after the proper waiver is signed at the Technical Inspection Station or Race Control. Restricted Areas include the Staging Lanes, Starting Line, Race Track, Return Roads, Chase Road, Short Road, and other areas marked as Restricted.

Round Robin Rule
Round Robin begins with 8 cars or less. Once round robin has begun, you will be given ten minutes to return to the staging lanes. The time will begin when the last car in your class crosses the finish line. If you do not make it to the lanes in time, you are out of the race. When you return to the lanes, you will be allotted five minutes to prep your vehicle and to be in your car ready to race. Any racer not ready in that time will be considered broke and their opponent will receive a broke single.

Spectator/Crew Refunds
Should an activity cause the race to be cancelled prior to completion of First Round, the full price will be refunded at the ticket gate that day only.

Staging Rule
Once you enter a staging lane, at the back of staging, you are committed to that lane. Once you return to staging, you must be in your car and ready to race. Any racer not ready to race will be considered broke and their opponent will receive a broke single.

Starting Line Area
Crew member’s access to the Starting Line area will be based on the type of event and type of racing. The number of crew members allowed on Starting line will be determined by track official. Crew member must stay in designated areas.

Team Points Registration
You must register to participate as a Team, with a maximum of two members allowed, prior to the 5th event of the series.

Tie Breaker
If a tie occurs in the first 10 positions in the final points standing for all classes, reaction times from winning rounds of all points’ races will be averaged. The best and the worst will be discarded. The driver with the best average wins the tie.

Trans Brake Testing
There will be no testing of Trans Brakes anywhere including the Pits, Staging Lanes or in the Tunnel.
